ALTIVEN® LEG CARE -
CONTRA-INDICATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Do not wear compression hosiery if you suffer with:

-
peripheral vascular disease.
-
significant arterial disease.
-
congestive cardiac failure or severe heart disease.
-
diabetes - unless under medical supervision.
-
have severe infection of the veins.
-
current acute inflammation.
- an ankle brachial pressure index of below 0.8 or above 1.2 unless following a specific referral and under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

For effective treatment and comfort your Altiven compression hosiery should fit well. A healthcare professional must assess and measure your legs to supply the most appropriate size before wearing each new pair. Large or irregularly shaped legs may indicate compression bandaging until the leg size and shape is suitable
for hosiery.

We recommend that all patients be re-assessed and re-measured regularly.
Two pairs of hosiery are usually prescribed at the same time.

If you have any concerns about the use of compression hosiery, or if your legs become more itchy, painful, hot, the stockings feel tighter, or you lose sensation in your toes or legs remove the garment immediately and consult your healthcare professional.
